Our interdisciplinary team of researchers conducts research on issues in thoracic surgery.
The focus of our thoracic surgery research is on tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. The topics we address fall under the inflammation research cluster of the Faculty of Medicine at Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg.
Just as we do in clinical practice, we also collaborate closely in our research with the cardiac surgery and pulmonology research groups. We maintain scientific collaborations with several other research groups at Otto von Guericke University as well as with institutions outside the region.
Our laboratory offers opportunities for medical students at the Faculty of Medicine at Otto von Guericke University to complete experimental doctoral dissertations.
