The Faculty Council is a body of the Faculty of Medicine and operates in accordance with § 2 HMG LSA.
The elected Faculty Council has the following duties in accordance with HMG LSA:

• Election of the Dean and the Vice Deans
• Approval of the annual financial statements and the explanatory report.

In addition, the responsibilities of the expanded Faculty Council are defined. Thus, all university faculty members are entitled to vote on the following decisions:

• in the formation of appointment committees
• in the decision-making process regarding appointment proposals
• when deciding on examination and study regulations as well as on doctoral and postdoctoral regulations
• when deciding on the course offerings
• when deciding on proposals for the appointment of honorary professors and visiting professors
• when deciding on evaluation results and their implementation
• in proposing the election of the dean
• in habilitation procedures.
